Six of us went to Porlock for a week to take photos and from there we took in Exmoor. Everyone thought it was great! The cottage is great, everything works perfectly once you understand which button to press. The communication in advance was excellent. Really more than helpful and supportive. There are also two wonderful restaurants nearby, the Lorna Doone Hotel and Porlock Weir Hotel. We'll be back next year!

2 Apartments. We stayed in Bracken, 1 double bed on the ground floor. Wonderful well equipped and cosy with small grass garden with table and chairs with super views. NB garden does not directly abut the place so dogs cannot be just let out of front door.

Fabulous cottage highly recommend. Very spacious, very very clean, very well equipped in every room, fabulous position and views, beds very comfortable, good quality bedding and towels, lounge furniture also very comfortable and enough for everyone, lots of games, books and dvds. One minute walk to village, pubs, shops and places to eat. A mile or so to the sea. Highly recommend and would definitely return. Thank you Jacquie and house keepers doing a fab job.

Spacious, comfortable and in a wonderful location. There were brownies waiting in our arrival too. Excellent communication from Jacquie at Exmoor Holidays every step of the way. Highly recommended. Rooms: Large bedrooms plenty big enough for 6 people. Nearby activities: Porlock Weir, Exmoor and Dunster all within easy distance.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Spacious and incredibly clean accommodation (kudos to the housekeeper). Everything we needed was provided all to a high standard. Beds were very comfy. A couple of minutes to the village high street, so convenient but not noisy. Lucky with the weather so able to relax on the patio and the dogs were in heaven with the very secure garden. Owner helpful and responsive. 10/10

We have just returned from another lovely stay in Maxwelton. We also rented Bracken, the apartment underneath, at the same time which made for a nice extended family holiday. The layout of Maxwelton is ideal with lovely views of the sea and gardens. The lounge is comfortable and spacious and the wood burner is just what you need on a chilly evening. The dining table and comfortable dining chairs were perfect for family meals and board game marathons. The kitchen was well equipped as was the utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The utility also worked well for our dogs. The bedrooms had lots of hanging and drawer space and the beds were very comfortable. The gardens and courtyard, which welcomed birds, squirrels and hedgehogs, were very relaxing spaces and ideal for BBQ meals and unwinding. The property was clean and welcoming. Porlock is a beautiful village and the local people were very friendly. We enjoyed some lovely walks around the village and down to the beach and there is a coastal path that goes to Porlock Weir which was a very popular destination with our family. We will certainly return in the future. Thank you!

Absolutely stunning cottage in stunning location. It was the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. The house was clean and tidy and every detail was thoughtful. The wine and cake on arrival was a lovely gesture. Loved Porlock, have never been before but we will definitely be back. The clear nights a star gazers delight.
